Ed McLachlan Lifetime Achievement Award from The Cartoon Art Trust.
With great pleasure and pride, we are able to announce that Folio's venerable Ed McLachlan has received the Heneage Cup from The Cartoon Art Trust. This Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Lord Baker of Dorking, reflects Ed's dedication to cartooning in Britain, and the admiration of his peers. Ed McLachlan's cartoons were first published in Punch in 1961, and he has drawn for Private Eye since 1967. His work has also appeared in Playboy, The Daily Mirror, The Spectator, The Sunday Telegraph and The Mirror. McLachlan's world is peopled by broad-shouldered spivs and gangsters in striped suits, insanely grinning clods, skinheads and Japanese waiters. If there is little sex, there is more than enough violence - usually caused by monster animals exacting their revenge on homo sapiens. We tip our hats to this legend of the cartooning world - well done, Sir!
