Owen Davey Picture a better you...
For a number of us keeping track of our productivity and daily commitments can be a struggle with many of us admitting defeat by offering countless excuses for them. Yet, thankfully in our digital age there is an app for just about everything and one to help you with your troublesome scheduling of activities is Google Calendar. They’ve designed goals to help schedule time for what matters in life, working around our unexpected changes in plans and learning to form routines and preferences, hallelujah I hear you cry!
Illustrator Owen Davey was commissioned to give this app a splash of creative flare, creating 5 canvases - exercise, build a skill, friends and family, me time, organise my life – which inspires people to visualise themselves working toward their goals. These can range from getting healthier, to dealing with chores to staying in touch with people who matter in your life. With fresh colour palettes and digital lines, Owen’s artwork promotes the ethos of challenging oneself and enhancing productivity, plus celebrating everyone’s abilities and aspirations in life.
After all, productivity shouldn’t be synonymous with monotony!
Nabil Nezzar Bestival Headliners
Looking into the future can be a scary thought, yet as ‘The Future’ themed Bestival ’16 is just around the corner and one of the hottest tickets this summer we are very much looking forward to it!
Promoting the announcement of Bestival 2016’s new stage, illustrator Nabil Nezzar created a startlingly lifelike triptych of headliners DJs Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox and Diplo. The initial plan to commission Bowie-esque portraits of the three DJs was reviewed by the event organisers after the saddening news of Bowie’s passing earlier this year.
Alexander Wells Alone On The Ice
Commissioned by Outside magazine, Alexander Wells was asked to create a series of illustrations depicting a very controversial story.
German explorer Martin Szwed claims to have shattered the speed record for a solo ski to the South Pole last year. Revealing no evidence of GPS data, photos or proof of his attempted journey, Szwed has now lost his house, sponsors and is the subject of two investigations by the German government. Quite dramatic to say the least!
Unusual in topic, yet exciting in concept. Creating four strong narrative images, Alexander Wells depicts this complex story with ease.
