celebrates 50 years in illustration
This October (4th-31st) Stroud's Museum in the Park is playing host to Tony Meeuwissen's retrospective. A prize-winning artist, Tony has won two gold and one silver awards from the D&AD. Highlights of his show include images from 'Key to the Kingdom' and the children's picture book 'Remarkable Animals', alongside award-winning stamp designs. Andy Watt illustrates Alon Shulman's book 'A Mess of Iguanas, a Whoop of Gorillas.'
Andy's funny and rather beautiful black and white illustrations about collections of animals appear on every page. Written by Alon Shulman, the book is all about amazing animal facts and curiosities, and what animals are called collectively, from an 'Ambush of Tigers' to a 'Zapper of Flycatchers'. Julian De Narvaez Illustrated book of The Green Fairy
The Folio Society produces beautiful hardbound editions of the world's greatest books. Julian was asked to illustrate Andrew Lang's latest translation in the Rainbow Fairy Books series, containing stories such as 'Bluebeard' and 'The Three Bears'. The Green Fairy is a large volume that is illustrated throughout, both in colour and black & white, in Julian's decorative style.
