Ed McLachlan - one of the all-time great gag artists of Punch
The Chris Beetles Gallery is celebrating 50 years of the cartoonist's art of making us laugh. Ed McLachlan and Mike Williams, two of the all time great, living gag artists from the glory days of Punch, continue to be the most popular regular cartoonists in The Spectator, The Oldie, Private Eye, The Big Issue and Saga Magazine. Alongside will be shown works by Bill Hewison (1925-2002) the influential Art Editor of Punch from 1960 to 1984, and a significant theatre and editorial cartoonist in his own right. These works come directly from the Hewison Estate and are on display for the first time. Private View Tuesday 17th April 2012 6pm - 8pm Meet the artist, Ed McLachlan. The exhibition runs until 5 May.
Julian De Narvaez Illustrated playing cards
Following a two-year, £12m renovation of Kensington Palace. Folio's Julian De Narvaez was commissioned to create twelve playing cards for the Kensington Project's 'House of Cards'. Each beautifully illustrated card depicts one of the many characters to be found around Kensington Palace during its heyday, from the Yeoman of the Guard all the way through to The Lady of the Bedchamber.

Jason Brooks is going to be at the Pick Me Up Contemporary Graphic Art Fair this Friday 30th, at Somerset House on the Strand, London. Jason's been invited as a 'Daily Special', from 11 am until 5.30 pm, and he'll be creating 50 signed, A4 artworks for sale from a mere £25 upwards. Here's your chance to pick up an original JB, so it's not to be missed. Admission is £8 - hope to see you there on Friday!
